The Front List - Lyse Doucet

A timely conversation with the BBC’s Chief International Correspondent.

As the BBC’s Chief International Correspondent, Lyse Doucet has witnessed 30 years of seismic events at dangerously close quarters. With The Finest Hotel in Kabul: A People’s History of Afghanistan, she’s also been shortlisted for 2026’s Women’s Prize for Nonfiction. Examining decades of deadly political tumult in Afghanistan through the story of the Hotel Intercontinental and its extraordinary staff, join journalist Sally Hayden for a critical conversation with Doucet about current global events – drawing on her experience in global postings from Tehran to Abidjan – and their potential future outcomes.
