As a last-ditch effort to recover from eating disorders, Amie enters a 28-day addiction treatment facility and remains there for a year. Tortured by her wildly dysfunctional parents, a seductive cupcake, and the ghost of a dead music icon, Amie surrenders to the fact that she may never recover... Destiny
She's gonna be an MTV Base backing dancer, you watch. If J-Lo can make it outta the Bronx then Destiny can make it off the Hill Rise estate. She's fearless, ferocious and up for the fight (she's had to be). A "captivating" (★★★★ The Guardian) show that follows a teenage girl growing up on a Chippenham council estate. Born below the breadline, she's desperate to see beyond the neighbourhood and find hope in hopelessness. A recipient of The Pleasance 2021 National Partnerships Award with Bristol Old Vic FERMENT.
Gulliver
He tells tales of lands undiscovered and creatures unheard of, but is he really the same man who disappeared so long ago? They say travel broadens the mind... but how far before it breaks? Following sell-out Fringe runs in 2018 & 2019, Box Tale Soup return with a new version of Swift's incredible adventure. Praise for Box Tale Soup: ★★★★★ - Fringe Guru ★★★★★ - Young Perspective Commissioned by the Clark Memorial Library, UCLA. Creation supported by Arts Council England.
Murder Ballads
Explosive gig-theatre meets dark comedy cabaret as four actor-musicians invite you to O'Malley's Bar in the town of Millhaven, 1882, in the wildest part of the old Wild West. Weaving Cave's outrageous songs into a darkly comic narrative, the performers take you through stories of betrayals, bar brawls, and blood baths. Expect an hour of laughter, horror, live music and one of the highest death counts you'll ever experience at the Fringe!
Coming Out of My Cage (And I've Been Doing Just Fine)
How did it end up like this? An interactive investigation with karaoke, lip-syncing, and absolute bangers. Tim and Hannah come across a viral video of an Irish bar singing 'Mr Brightside' to their recently departed friend. Reading online comments they uncover stories of incredible people - all united by one song. Together they conduct an investigation into the chart-busting phenomenon and give you an unashamedly good night out in the process.
